We are thrilled to hear that all of our students gained places at their first choice University.  We wish them well in their new lives in Oxford, Bath, Cambridge, Boston (US) amongst other Universities.  Above all, we hope they continue to enjoy their music.

Double Bass & Cello Lessons

• "Audrey is an absolute gem!  She is a wonderfully encouraging teacher who pitches her lessons perfectly to ensure the girls make steady progress but at the same time enjoy playing music.  Audrey is very thorough and professional, she finds pieces she knows will appeal to their personal tastes, sets realistic goals and homework - the lessons flow and my daughters very much look forward to their time with her. She is extremely reliable, is passionate about what she does and makes each lesson fun - she has a firm but very friendly approach, my girls warmed to her immediately.  We have also attended two of the lovely 'Scales Concerts' where the children are given the wonderfully valuable opportunity to perform - both very enjoyable experiences and lovely to see the children growing in confidence and playing their pieces for an audience.  We would highly recommend Audrey and Scales Music.  ”

• “Antoinette is a very gifted and intelligent music teacher. She has an extensive knowledge of the repertoire and knows exactly how to improve her students’ technique. More importantly, Antoinette quickly developed an honest and mutually respectful rapport with our daughter which has enabled them to explore new pieces together in order to work on them in a very mature, personal and supportive way and very successfully too. Our daughter’s singing has improved beyond all recognition and Antoinette has given her great confidence in her ability. Our daughter recently passed her ABRSM Grade 8 exam with a high distinction score of 144/150 and won the Richmond Festival Solo Voice performance as well as her School Festival Music Voice Prize and a place at Royal College of Music Junior Department which she now attends weekly. Antoinette is also a very organised teacher who has a very clearly set out timetable that she communicates well in advance. She never cancels her lessons and always runs on time. Antoinette is always in a good mood, always courteous and very reliable. She is the best teacher one could ever hope for.”

With absolute sincerity and whole hearted honesty, I simply cannot praise Eugenie enough, she simply is an incredible teacher. Week in, week out, she turns up for the lesson with a happy disposition, always smiling and always calm and relaxed. Her manner is always full of praise and encouragement, her ability to bring my daughter back into focus when her mind wanders is remarkable. Eugenie's approach to teaching is so refreshing, she carefully considers the child as an individual and manages to progress their ability by encouraging them to keep going when things get a little tricky, always with her expert hands at the ready to play alongside so that the child feels supported.  I cannot recommend Eugenie as a teacher more highly, she is a breath of fresh air as well as being a piano teacher of an exceptional standard. ”

She is hugely supportive and her style of teaching through well-chosen repertoire has kept me engaged and improving throughout - having had a negative experience with a singing tutor at drama school I had lost a lot of confidence but with Antoinette’s help I’m now working on Diploma level classical repertoire and singing is once again a hugely joyful and rewarding part of my life. As an actor I have a very changeable schedule, and she is understanding of my need for flexibility and for striking a balance between singing as a professional tool and as a hobby for my own pleasure.
